Volcanic hike to the Ray-Pic waterfall
You are awoken by the noise of the children, who are preparing breakfast on your mobile home terrace. They are excited by today’s programme and, for once, they are awake before you!
You head off for the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park and quickly reach the first panoramic viewpoint, by the road, offering a bird’s eye view over the waterfall.
You leave the car in the car park and take the trail laid out through the undergrowth, leading to the Ray-Pic waterfall. We recommend good comfortable shoes.
It takes around 30 minutes to reach the final panoramic viewpoint and admire the waterfalls, coming from the Bourges river and plunging from 30 metres high, hurtling down the basalt columns.
Although the water purity is tempting, swimming is prohibited for safety reasons here. Nonetheless, you have time to admire the waterfall from all angles.
It is time for a well-deserved delicious picnic. Home-made sandwiches, crunchy carrot sticks, hard boiled eggs, summer fruits and chocolate squares for dessert.
You’ve now perked up and are ready for the second activity of the day, which will delight children and adults alike. Get back in the car and take the secondary D road for Jaujac.
You arrive at the “Accroche-toi aux branches” adventure park, having decided to take up the challenge of the 11 treetop adventure courses and their giant zip lines.
After more than 2 hours 30 minutes of aerial trekking, hurtling from tree to tree, you’ll be pleased to have a break at the refreshment snack bar, over a cold drink and little snack.
